Full day Beekeeping and factory tour:

  • We will pick you up from your accommodation or between 9am and 10 am (time confirmed at booking). Or you can meet us at our CBD shop-front at 66 Devon St West New Plymouth.

  • Visit beehives on a farm, take an off-road vehicle into remote countryside where you can see the day-to-day operations of real working beehives. Get kitted out in a bee suit and open the bee hive under the guidance of an experienced beekeeper. Eat some honey straight from the honey frame. Just as nature intended!

  • Learn the different components of the bee hive and find the QUEEN BEE

  • Take the ultimate selfie photo in your bee suit with thousands of bees flying around your head.

  • Finish with a bush walk identifying the Manuka tree, Rewarewa tree and other famous trees that make our honey so delicious.

  • Visit the Egmont Honey factory to watch the entire honey making process through our famous glass wall packing rooms.

  • Finish the tour with a honey tasting experience where you can try up to 8 different honey types.

  • We will give you a jar of our delicious RAW honey for free to take home and share with family (or not share as it's sooo good).

  • Finally, If you want more you can watch a hive-to-pot experience in 3D using our unique virtual reality goggles. A seriously cool experience.

Honey Tour Half-Day Express Tour:

  • Meet at our Honey factory in New Plymouth.

  • You will visit some bee hives close to new Plymouth on one of our pasture honey sites.

  • Visit the Egmont Honey factory to watch the entire honey making process through our famous glass wall packing rooms.

  • Finally, If you want more you can watch a hive-to-pot experience in 3D using our unique virtual reality goggles. A seriously cool experience.

  • Go and experience a real working dairy farm.
  • Travel on an off-road vehicle and get the cows in from the paddocks and follow them to the dairy shed.
  •  Learn how to put the milking cups on the Cows yourself.
  • Feed the baby calves with milk from a big milk bottle. (Get a selfie for social media of course).
  • At the end of the trip, enjoy a refreshing cold and healthy RAW milk drink, full of natural calcium and health properties, just as nature intended.

Sheep and Beef Farm Tour

  • We will pick you up from your accommodation  between 9am and 10 am (time confirmed at booking).  Or you can meet us at our CBD shop-front at 66 Devon St West New Plymouth. 
  • Head out to a Taranaki hill country sheep and beef farm, approximately 1 hour drive.
  • Take part in whatever activities are happening on the day. We don’t fabricate anything here at Egmont Tours. If they are shearing sheep, you will be in the woolshed lending a hand. If they are mustering sheep with their packs of dogs, you will be right alongside the action.  
  • Finish the morning with a lunch of beef steaks and fresh lamb chops on the BBQ (depending on package) surrounded by beautiful hill country and native bush.   (vegetarian options available)

South Taranaki overnight bush stay

  • We will pick you up from your accommodation or between 9am and 10 am (time confirmed at booking).  Or you can meet us at our CBD shop-front 66 Devon St West New Plymouth. 
  • Drive into the remote South Taranaki hill country valleys, approximately 1 hour travel time.
  • We will leave the Ute behind and embark on a 3-hour trek into the native bush. (If you don’t fancy bush walk then we can get you pretty close with our off-road vehicles)
  • Once at the hut our guides will light the fire in the hut and boil the hot water for a nice cup of tea.
  • They will then prepare an amazing casserole in the bush oven and leave it to simmer for a few hours before dinner. This world famous casserole has had rave reviews from people all over the world.
  • There are a number of remote bush walking tracks around this hut that you can experience. Alternatively you can sit back, relax and read a book surrounded by nothing but bird song.
  • You are likely to see wild dear, goats and pigs on a typical walk into our hut.
  • For the adventurous, ask us about adding on wild jet boat ride up a South Taranaki river.
